What We Do
We believe that every adequate treatment program consists of three steps – medical detox, inpatient treatment, and comprehensive aftercare. Medical detox is a necessary first step, and the process of detoxification truly allows for the continuation of meaningful and long-term sobriety. Drug and alcohol abuse wreak havoc on the physical body. When use is ceased abruptly, symptoms of physical withdrawal are bound to ensue. Depending on what chemical substances an individual have been abusing and how frequently he or she was abusing them, symptoms may vary. Withdrawal symptoms typically range from stomach cramping, headaches, nausea, vomiting, and fever to tremors, seizures, rapid heart rate, and – in some cases – strokes, comas, or even death. Typically, symptoms of withdrawal are more unpleasant than lethal. However, because they are so unpleasant, many individuals who are undergoing detox will be tempted to return to use in order to alleviate some of their discomforts. We at Chapel Hill Detox offer supportive care 24-hours a day. We work to alleviate symptoms while preventing our clients from returning to their old way of life.
Who We Are
Our team of licensed and experienced medical professionals strives to provide the most personalized and comprehensive care possible. Our staff is on-call 24-hours a day; our goal is to make the medical detoxification as painless and productive as we can. When a client is admitted, he or she will immediately undergo a thorough evaluation. Based on this evaluation, our medical team will develop an individualized treatment plan, consisting of group therapy, individual therapy, and private sessions with a licensed psychiatrist. We believe in a combination of top-quality therapy and unparalleled accommodations, which together allow for a treatment experience unlike any other.
